Shomrim/Guardian Enhanced Membership

If you have been blessed with good fortune and recognize the importance of helping others, we know that you will want to join our Circle of Guardians/Shomrim, perform the Mitzvah of Tzedakah and become a link in the perpetuation of L'dor Vador...From Generation to Generation. As your ancestors provided for you, it is now time for you to provide for others.

The Enhanced Membership Program is annual support that underwrites the CBI Chesed Program. It allows us to offer membership to those who seek to be part of our Congregational family but cannot afford full membership contribution or school fees. Over the years, more than 1,200 families have been able to join or maintain membership in CBI and more than 3,300 children have been able to attend our Graff School for Living Judaism.




There are six levels of Enhanced Membership:

Participation in any level of Enhanced Membership is inclusive of

• the synagogue Access Control Fees
• membership in Brotherhood and Sisterhood,
• earliest SLJ and NCECE registration
• twelve complimentary Life Cycle Cards to commemorate special occasions
• recognition in each issue of Shelanu and on the Enhanced Member page of the CBI website
• a special “Leadership Breakfast” each spring with the Rabbis, key staff and congregational leaders on the status of Jewish life and CBI
• fully deductible for tax purposes to the limit permitted by the IRS
• the opportunity for upgraded sponsorships of the Scholar-in-Residence Weekend and other congregational events

Participation does not cover obligations for school or program fees, building fund or endowment campaign commitments.

How to Become an Enhanced Member

Enhanced membership is an option on the Congregation’s membership and renewal forms. The commitment can be completed through a single payment or by monthly payments starting in July.
