Funerals
When sorrow comes, our clergy know how to be there, to support
you, to guide you through what must be done, and to do it in as loving,
meaningful, and supportive a way as possible. In the case where the death is
expected, the Rabbis are available to visit the sick and the aged, and to help
their families in pre-need arrangements for the ceremony and funeral.
Following
the funeral, our clergy will be honored to lead the Shiva minyan services for
the family as well. To speak with a
member of our clergy about a loss in your family, please contact Monica
Rachelson, assistant to Rabbi Agler at 561/241-8118 or monica@cbiboca.org or Eric Weiss,
assistant to Rabbi Silvers and Rabbi Bloch at 561/241-8118 or eweiss@cbiboca.org.
ShivaConnect.com is a free website to help Jewish mourners learn about sitting shiva, conveniently share funeral & shiva details with family & friends, assist in coordinating the bereavement period, make memorial donations and find helpful resources.

A private Shiva Registry page can easily be created by a mourner, relative, friend or by contacting ShivaConnect at info@shivaconnect.com, 1-800-797-0605. It only takes about 5 minutes to enter information that includes: funeral and shiva dates, times, places, mourners’ contact information, synagogue affiliations, family charitable requests, food notes and who to call if you have a question. A direct link to the personal Shiva Registry can then be emailed, texted, tweeted, posted on Facebook or found through a search on ShivaConnect’s home page.
With “just a click,” family and friends learn sitting shiva details, get interactive directions, make charitable contributions, view and post food already sent, find local delis and helpful resources, read eulogies and send messages of condolence to mourners. The Florida charity page has a link to Congregation B’nai Israel, to facilitate memorial donations.
Creating a Shiva Registry helps families minimize confusion, unnecessary phone calls and wasted food, while letting well wishers know how best to express their condolences.
ShivaConnect.com has informative articles about shiva customs and traditions, preparing your home for sitting shiva, visiting mourners, Jewish prayers, poems, healing songs (compliments of Cantor Shore), kaddish, unveiling, etc. as well as listings of helpful resources for a time of loss and an emailed Yahrzeit Reminder.
