Enrichment Programs
TYPES OF EXTENDED DAY PROGRAMS
There is one morning program and three different types of afternoon programs offered in our extended day program, each serving a different purpose. Listed below are the names and descriptions of each program.
EARLY MORNING CARE – This program is designed for parents who would like to drop their child off earlier than 9:15 A.M. Children will be participating in free-play activities including manipulative play, imaginative play and art. Drop-off for this program will be in the library beginning at 8:00 A.M.
EXTENDED PLAY- This program is designed for our two year old children that are enrolled in a class that dismisses at 12:30 PM. This program extends your child’s day allowing you to pick them up at 1:30.
ENRICHMENT - This program is designed for children who desire extra activities after 1:35 p.m. Children will have rest period and a snack time, but will be able to choose one or two enrichment activities for the afternoon. If you choose one activity for your child, he/she will be ready to go home at 2:45 p.m. If you choose two activities, he/she will be ready to go home at 3:10 p.m.
Enrichment classes must be registered and paid for prior to the beginning of each session. There will be no daily drop-offs in the Enrichment Program.
There is also a selection of activities for full day classes. These enrichment programs are designed for children attending school until 3:00 P.M. Classes run from 3:15 P.M. until 4:00 P.M.
AFTER SCHOOL CARE - This program is designed for parents who would like to pick up their child after regular school hours. Children will eat a snack and participate in activities. This program runs from 3:15 P.M. – 6:00 P.M. It is designed for children who are involved in two enrichment programs or a full day class but will be picked up no later then 6:00 P.M.
PAYMENT
All enrichment classes must be paid for before the first day that your child will attend that class. Payment for Early Morning Care, Extended Play, and After School Care may be paid for in one of three ways.
The first method of payment for Early Morning Care, Extended Play, and After School Care is the least expensive. This form of payment is done by session. You may pay at the beginning of each session for the amount of days per week your child will attend the programs.
The second method of payment for Early Morning Care, Extended Play, and After School Care is the coupon method. This method of payment is designed for children who will not be staying on a regular basis. You may purchase coupon books and when necessary, send the coupon into your child's teacher on the day he/she will be staying for Early Morning Care, Extended Play or After School Care. You may purchase the booklet by stopping in the school office. The cost of the coupon booklets can be found on the enrichment registration forms.
The third method of payment is the most expensive. This is the daily method of payment. If you need your child to stay for one of our programs but have not registered him/her for the session or have not purchased a coupon booklet, you may use the daily method of payment. You may call the office or send a note in to your child’s teacher to arrange for additional care. Payment must be made the day your child attends the program. Please stop by the front office before you pick up your child to make a payment.
REGISTRATION
You may register your child for Early Morning Care, Extended Play, Enrichment or After School Care by using the enclosed registration form. Please remember that enrichment class sizes are limited, therefore, we will accept registration forms as they come in but will close classes as they become filled.
We will take names for a waitlist with no payment. If we are able to open another class you will be called. Registration for enrichment classes must be made in person, no registrations will be accepted over the phone.
ENRICHMENT COURSE DESCRIPTIONS
ART - Your children will be experimenting with a different art medium each class. Art is a great way for children to express themselves at the same time as developing their fine motor skills.

BASKETBALL - Dribble, pass, guard and shoot! Your child will learn the fundamentals of basketball while developing gross motor skills.

BIKES FOR TYKES – Coach Ferny teaches the children how to balance and steer a two wheeler bicycle. The simple design of Coach’s bike offers them easy control and helps to build their confidence. Your child will never need a tricycle or training wheels on their first bicycle. Bike safety will be taught and helmets are required.

BUSY BAKER - Stir, mix, cream, beat and pour….are just some of the cooking words the children will learn while challenging their fine motor skills and creating delicious delights. Children will bake tempting treats such as cookies, cakes, muffins, tarts, and pies.

CHEERLEADING – This upbeat class focuses on chants, jumps, formations and stunts. They will also work on flexibility, body control and strength. Little ones won’t stop cheering about the fun and unique games used to introduce cheerleading

EDIBLE ART - Create a masterpiece both artistically and gastronomically. Your child will have fun using their imagination putting together art that is good enough to eat.

FUN AND FITNESS - While enrolled in this program your child will learn to work their motor skills by hopping, jumping, climbing, catching, doing somersaults, and skipping. They will learn to balance using age appropriate equipment such as tunnels, balance beams, trampolines, and parachutes, all coupled with children’s music. Improved motor skills will help your child gain a competitive advantage and achieve success with a high level of fitness while having fun!

THE GALLOPING GOURMET - Children will work with their fine and gross motor skills while creating scrumptious foods. At the same time, they will learn to use measuring cups and spoons.

HODGE PODGE FOR TWOS - Cooking, Art, and Drama are just a few of the activities your child will be participating in. Hodge Podge for Twos is a special program that is tailor made for children in our Two’s and Turning Three programs.

JEWELRY MAKING – Experience the exciting world of jewelry! Throughout this session, we will explore the history of gems, play fabulous games and design beautiful pieces for our collection!

KARATE FOR KIDS - We are pleased to announce the addition of Master Instructor Eric Weinberg and his Karate Program. Sensei Eric has over thirty five years experience teaching children of all ages. The program for 3-5 year olds is especially designed to work on respect, discipline, strength, balance, coordination, as well as the basic kicks, strikes and punches of mixed martial arts. All taught in a fun, dynamic atmosphere. The safety and well being of your child comes first.

PICASSO’S CHILDREN - Picasso’s Children is the most innovative and exciting program of its kind for young children. In addition to having fun with the basics of art appreciation, this session they will be highlighting NEW artists such as Rockwell, Dali and Rodin. The children will also be working this session with a variety of mixed media such as paper mache’ and sculpture. The age appropriate curriculum is skill based, to help develop fine motor skills and also bring out the inner artist in each child

TIC-TALK SPANISH – Tic-Talk Spanish is a total immersion language acquisition program that helps children understand and learn vocabulary and develop the skills necessary to speak Spanish. This total immersion program will provide your child the opportunity to hear, repeat and experience the Spanish language through music and play. Your children will receive the beginning collection of Tic-Talk Spanish Workbooks, CD’s and Flashcards. Each collection contains familiar vocabulary repeated throughout the songs which makes learning, consistent, interactive, and fun.

SPORTKINS – Have a ball with Coach Ferny & Sportskins! Come join the FUN sports and sports-related activities that will enrich every child’s physical and social development while creating positive athletic experiences. By learning the fundamental skills of kicking, catching, throwing, running, and jumping, the Sportskins class will help your child develop confidence, teamwork and good sportsmanship.

T-BALL - Baseball is the All-American sport. Children will be introduced to the world of baseball by learning beginning batting, base running, throwing and catching skills.

TENNIS - Le Petit Tennis, Inc. is a company created, owned and operated by former professional tennis players. Their goal is to introduce proper tennis technique to children between the key developmental ages of 3½ and 8 years old; ages when children absorb information the quickest. With their mobile kits, certified coaches and age appropriate sized rackets, nets and balls, every child will have success and fun while learning how to play tennis. They teach the fundamentals of tennis in a dynamic, positive and fun environment with a teaching method designed to ensure that every child will find success and improve.

TINY TOES DANCE – Children will learn hip-hop, ballet and jazz just to name a few!!!! Classes will introduce the fundamentals of all types of dance in a fun way. Through the use of creative stories, fun games, and unique techniques they will get even the youngest toes tapping to the beat. The children will learn counting, rhythm, stage direction, combinations, dance movements and how to move across the floor.

ZUMBA / Hip Hop - It is never too early to incorporate habits of a healthy lifestyle. This enrichment class is EASY, FUN & EFFECTIVE, and kids will have so much fun that they won't even realize they're exercising! The class combines the innovative dance styles of Zumba and Hip Hop set to popular music to ensure the kids will be moving and grooving. When taken together, they provide a venue for and encourage self expression, social interaction & multi-cultural understanding.
