Chavurah groups (friendship groups) at Congregation B’nai Israel are formed by people with similar interests, such as reading, Torah study, nature lovers, dining, etc. or by people who are in similar life stages, such as empty nesters, singles, young families, and young professionals. Chavurah groups are a great way for members to feel more connected and they help make a large congregation feel more like a family.
Chavurah groups are always a work in progress as new people move into the area and join the synagogue. The many CBI committees also serve as Chavurah groups, bringing people with similar interests together to create strong friendships.
If you are interested in being part of a CBI Chavurah, have an idea for a new group, or would like information about existing groups, please contact Penny Laufer.
