Music @ CBI
At Congregation B’nai Israel, music truly is at the heart and soul of all that we do. From the adult and children’s choirs, wonderful Friday night services, and our funny and fantastic Purim Shpiels, to our moving High Holy Day services, there is something for everyone here at CBI.
If you love to sing, come join us! Whether you’re 8 or 80, we have a group just for you. Come find your voice at Congregation B’nai Israel.
This adult singing group, led by Cantor Shore, teaches everything in a slow, easy-to-learn manner. There is no need to read music or Hebrew. Come join us for friendship and fun with enjoyable evenings where we make beautiful Jewish music in preparation for services and other community events.
B’nai’s Big Beat Band (Adult Band)
Under the direction of Cantor Shore, the B’nai’s Big Beat Band makes Jewish music come alive for the congregation and for themselves. This group uplifts us at services and really rocks the house! We are always looking for musicians to join in the fun.
Cantor Shore leads the most talented teen rock band around! If you sing or play a musical instrument this is the group for you. The Youth Band learns upbeat music in a fun environment, and plays for various services and programs throughout the year to their adoring fans.
Our Cantorial Associate, Sarah Freudenberger, leads this group of children in learning a wide variety of Jewish music for holidays and Shabbat. Cantor Shore and Sarah also work to prepare them for the role of Junior Cantor so they can lead services for the religious school.
Cantor Shore and Cantorial Associate Sarah Freudenberger will direct the children in their very own Purim Shpiel that is performed for the entire religious school. The children meet weekly prior to Purim to rehearse a play and music that they have chosen.
This adult unplugged musical quartet accompany Cantor Shore at special Friday Night Services and Special Events.
