At Congregation B’nai Israel we offer many opportunities for you to worship. Shabbat evening services are held on Fridays at 7:30 pm in our Cohen/Friedkin Sanctuary, unless otherwise noted. Our Shabbat worship is innovative and diverse and filled with song, joy, and spirituality. We also use our Shabbat services as a venue for learning, by engaging noted rabbis and scholars who share with us on timely issues.
On Saturday Shabbat mornings, we offer an intimate Torah Learning Service in our Hollander Family Chapel led by our clergy or guest rabbis from our community.
Our B’nai Mitzvah services are open to the public and are scheduled as needed.
Congregation B’nai Israel also offers a wide variety of what we like to call “Special Shabbats” that incorporate music, fun, and family-friendly experiences. Here is a sample of what we have to offer:
Welcome Back Shabbat: Join our clergy for a warm welcome back from your summer to enjoy the beginning of the season with a scrumptious chocolate Oneg.
Musical Spirituality: Join Cantor Shore on a spiritual musical journey for your heart and soul.
Spooky Shabbat: Prepare to be scared as our Rabbis tell scary Jewish Stories and our Cantor entertains with some ghostly songs.
Stars and Stripes Shabbat: Join us as we honor the veterans in our community with prayer, patriotic music, and more.
Family Shabbat Under the Stars: Several times a year we host a fun and family-friendly themed outdoor Shabbat with pizza and s’mores. Bring blankets and beach chairs and come join the fun!
First Friday Shabbats: An early Friday night Shabbat service that is an uplifting musical and spiritual journey.
Musical Shabbats: CBI has several different musical groups to entertain you at our services. Come sing along and sway to the beautiful tunes of our CBI Musical Groups.
Birthday Blessings: Every month we honor our members’ birthdays with a special call to the bimah and blessing.
MLK Shabbat: Each year we honor Martin Luther King, Jr. in this meaningful and inspirational service.
Shabbat Shira: Join Cantor Shore in this beautiful themed Shabbat of song.
Ribbon Shabbat: Join Rabbi Marci Bloch for a beautiful healing Shabbat and wear a ribbon that brings awareness to a disease or disability that has impacted your life.
Purim Shpiel Shabbat: Join us as we continue this long standing tradition of the clergy and staff giving an inspirational performance and parody of the story of Purim.
Woodstock Shabbat: Come dressed in your best tie-dye and rock out with Cantor Shore and CBI’s musical groups to the best music from the 60s and 70s.
Passover Beach Shabbat: Wear your shorts and t-shirt and join CBI at Delray Beach as we celebrate the holiday during this beautiful and sandy service.
