Shomrim/Guardian Society

What is Shomrim?

Shomrim/Guardian Membership ensures the ongoing strength and resiliency of the temple and its mission, giving above and beyond traditional congregational commitment.

To ensure financial hardship is never an obstacle for membership, the Shomrim/Guardian Society was created so that every child can receive a Jewish education and families have access to membership.

Why Become a Shomrim/Guardian Member?

For more than 40 years, Congregation B’nai Israel has been a source of connection, learning, and meaning for our members and the broader community. This sacred work is only possible because of individuals like you — those who believe in sustaining Jewish life and ensuring a strong future for generations to come.

This commitment helps to protect the future of our synagogue for our children and our children’s children.

  • In 2025 our Shomrim membership dues totaled approximately $235,000 which directly supported 47 Chesed members with dues, scholarships, religious and preschool dues, and programs.
  • Every number represents a life touched, a family helped, a future rebuilt. And behind it all are Shomrim Members who have made all this possible
