When tragedy upends Zev Altshul’s life in Brooklyn’s Lubavitcher community, handball—his gift from God—becomes his anchor. As he’s shuttled between family and elders who ultimately abandon him, Zev sets out across America in search of his long-lost sister and a life beyond Crown Heights. From Chicago to New Mexico, ties to his past shadow him, forcing him to question loyalty, freedom, and belonging in this lyrical and vivid portrait of Hasidic life and exile.
