Controls for Do Not Track Features

Some web browsers transmit “do-not-track” (DNT) signals to websites via a DNT feature or setting you can activate to signal your privacy preference not to have data about your online browsing activities monitored and collected.  We honor DNT signals and do not track, plant cookies, or use advertising when a DNT browser mechanism is in place.

Rights and Choices Regarding Your Information

We strive to provide you with choices regarding the personal information you provide to us. We have created mechanisms to provide you with the following control over your information:

  • Tracking Technologies. You can set your browser to refuse all or some browser cookies, or to alert you when cookies are being sent. • Opting-Out. If you do not wish to have your personal information, including your email address or phone number used for marketing or other similar purposes, you may stop that use by sending us an email stating your request to cbi@cbiboca.org, or unsubscribing using the link located at the bottom of our marketing emails or replying “STOP” to our marketing texts.
  • Promotional Offers from CBI. If you do not wish to have your contact information used by CBI to promote our own products or services, you can opt-out by logging into the Website and adjusting your user preferences in your account profile or by sending us an email stating your request to cbi@cbiboca.org. If we have sent you a promotional email or text, you may unsubscribe using the link located at the bottom of our email or replying “STOP” to our text.

You may be entitled under applicable laws to request, subject to some exceptions, the following:

  • That we provide you transparency about our privacy practices;
  • That we provide you copies of your personal information that we process;
  • Provide portability of your information, subject to some exceptions;
  • That we correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete; and
  • That we delete your personal information.

To make a request or to express a privacy concern, you or your authorized agent should send an email with your state of residence and “Privacy Rights” in the subject line to cbi@cbiboca.org.  In the body of your email, please state your first name, last name, mailing address, email address and telephone number. We will use this data to locate your profile within our system.

We will verify and respond to your request consistent with applicable law, taking into account the type and sensitivity of the personal information subject to the request. For your protection, and to protect the privacy of others, we may need to verify your identity before completing what you have asked us to do. We may need to request additional personal information from you, such as your home address, email address and government issued ID, in order to protect against fraudulent or spoofed requests.

If an authorized agent of a consumer submits a request to know or request to delete, the agent must submit a writing to CBI that is signed and dated by the consumer. The consumer’s first name, last name, mailing address, email address, and telephone number must be included on the signed authorization. The signed authorization must expressly state that the agent is authorized to submit requests to know and requests to delete on the consumer’s behalf, receive the consumer’s personal information in response to a request to know, and to receive communications on the consumer’s behalf related to the requests.

If you object to us using your personal information or wish to withdraw permission for us to use your personal information, after initially giving it to us, we will respect your choice in line with applicable law. While we will do our best to limit the ability such withdrawal has on our ability to provide you services and information you requested, some of the functionality and features available on our services may change or no longer be available to you.

Under certain U.S. state data protection laws, if we decline to take action regarding your request, you may appeal our decision.  To appeal a request you feel was denied in error, please respond to the contact information provided in the response denying your request.  We will inform you in writing of any action taken or not taken in response to the appeal, including an explanation of the reasons for the decisions.  If your appeal is denied, you may submit a complaint to your state attorney general.

We will not discriminate against you if you exercise your privacy rights.

We do not control third parties’ collection or use of your information to serve interest-based advertising. However, these third parties may provide you with ways to choose not to have your information collected or used in this way. You can opt out of receiving targeted ads from members of the Network Advertising Initiative (“NAI“) on the NAI’s website.

Residents of certain states may have additional personal information rights and choices. Please see the section entitled Your State Privacy Rights for more information.
